If you’re a Windows 10 user, you’ll likely find that OneDrive sits in the system tray notification area. OneDrive is hard to turn off, but there are ways to hide it and turn it off if the service isn’t for you, especially if you’re using a service like Dropbox.

Disable autosave on OneDrive in Windows 10

When you sign in to OneDrive using your Microsoft account, you’ll find OneDrive asking you to save screenshots, photos, and documents to OneDrive.

If you agree to this request, your computer will automatically start uploading files, photos, videos, screenshots, documents, and other files from Microsoft Office to your OneDrive account.

However, you can always go back to the OneDrive settings and turn OFF the Automatically Save to OneDrive option for screenshots, photos, documents, and other files.

Prevent screenshots from being automatically saved to OneDrive

For most users, automatically saving screenshots to OneDrive is not necessary and enabling this feature can clutter your OneDrive account with unwanted screenshots.
