How to Add a Status Message in Microsoft Teams – Guide
Setting a Microsoft Teams status message is a great way to keep your colleagues up know where you are and what you are doing. Updating your status message regularly can avoid endless “What are you working on” messages while also giving you the opportunity to get creative when you’re away from your desk. that people see in the upper-right corner of the screen. The custom message allows you to enter up to 280 characters (which I think is quite a lot!). If you really need that many characters to tell your co-workers what you’re doing, this is an option! You can also set how long you want your status to be displayed.
To set the status, hover over your profile picture in the top right corner and select “Set Status Message” and start typing your message. You can also mention people in the organization to send ONLY your status to them, which is very helpful. Be sure to choose how long you want this status to appear. If you want everyone to see your status, you’ll need to check the “Show when people message me” box to ensure everyone gets a Teams notification when you’re unavailable.
