How to Add a printer

If Windows can identify the printer automatically, installation takes just a few minutes and there’s really nothing you need to do except click a few buttons.

1. Open settings. One way to get there is by right-clicking the Start button. button and selecting Settings.

2. Navigate to Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.

3. Select Add Device, wait a few seconds for Windows to locate the printer, then select Add Device next to the one you want to install.

How to Add a printer manually

If your computer is not automatically recognizing the printer, you can try to add it manually.

6. Wait while Windows fills in a list of options. You will see a screen with the message Windows is updating the printer list. This may take a few minutes.

10. Choose Do not share this printer, then select Next. Unless, of course, you want to share it with other devices on your network; in that case, select Share this printer and fill in these details.
