How to turn off Windows 11’s System Notifications – Guide

- Press Windows key + I to open up the Settings menu in Windows 11.
- From the main Settings screen, use the menu on the left to click System. If you don’t see the default options, click the action button in the upper left corner.
- Once inside the System tab, go to the right side menu and click on Notifications.
- Then, in the dedicated Notifications menu, set the switch to OFF to disable notifications for all your apps, or set it to ON if you want to receive all notifications.
- Once you change the toggle, the new behavior will be applied (no need to restart). You can safely close the Settings screen at this point.
- Press Windows key + I to open up the Settings menu.
- Then click or tap System on the left vertical menu.
- With the System tab selected, go to the right pane and click or tap Notifications.
- Once you’re inside the Notifications settings page, scroll down to the Notifications from apps and other senders section and disable or enable the selectors according to the apps you want to receive notifications from.
- Once the changes are applied, you can safely close the Settings screen.
Turn all Windows 11 notifications on or off through Registry Editor
- Press Windows key + R to open up a Run dialog box. Then type ‘regedit’ into the text box that just popped up and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open up a Registry Editor page with administrator access.
- When prompted by the User Account Control prompt, click Yes to grant administrative privileges.
- Once inside the Registry Editor, use the left hand menu to navigate to the following location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion PushNotifications
- Right-click on PushNotifications in the left menu and choose New > Dword (32-bit) Value from the context menu that just appeared.
- Then go to the right pane and rename the newly created Dword to ToastEnabled by right-clicking on the item and choosing Rename.
- Double-click the newly created ToastEnabled item, then set the Base to Hexadecimal and the Value to 1, depending on what you want to do: 0 – Disable System Level Notifications in Windows 11 1 – Enable Notifications in a system level in Windows 11
- After making the change, close Registry Editor and restart the PC to allow the changes to take effect.
Enable or disable Windows 11 specific notifications through Notification Center
- Press Windows key + N to open up the Notification Center in Windows 11.
- Then click on the action button (three dot icon) at the top of the app whose notifications you want to disable.
- In the context menu that just appeared, click Disable all notifications for *application name*.
- Close the Settings app as the changes should already be applied.
